Opening in Montclair

Following that, Montclair Center posted on its page on September 20th that it’s “proud to announce the grand opening of Charm Thai Montclair!” The post continued, “Experience traditional Thai food from mild and spicy to sweet and savory with your choice of protein, served with fresh veggies. Charm Thai Montclair offers an outstanding dining experience for the entire family to enjoy!”

Prior to this, Rice and Noodles Thai Cuisine occupied the space at 600 Bloomfield Ave. The Montclair Girl learned that the new owners are part of the family business and that the previous owner wanted to retire.
The vibe of the restaurant remains the same — transporting customers to Thailand. Inside there are cozy white chairs, Thai umbrellas and photographs of Thai leaders decorating the walls, and Thai Teppanom statues throughout.
About The Menu
Charm Thai’s diverse menu boasts, according to its website, “only the freshest and finest ingredients.” The diverse menu serves items for everyone in the family. For appetizers, the restaurant offers crab rangoon, crispy shrimp rolls, chicken satay, pan-seared chicken dumplings, and tod mun pla (fish cake with red curry), among other things. There is also a variety of soups, salads, fried rice and noodles to select from.

For the main dish, the Thai restaurant offers a selection of “Charm Thai Wok Style” items where customers can select a protein and the sauce — garlic, ginger, eggplant basil, prik khing, and so forth. In addition, there are authentic Thai curry plates and Charm Thai specialty items like gai yang (BBQ boneless marinated chicken thighs), salmon choo chee, volcano tofu, and tamarind duck.
To top it off there are currently three desserts to choose from: sticky rice with custard, mango sticky rice, and fried ice cream. The drinks consist of Thai ice tea (available in regular, Thai, mango, and lychee) and various juices and sodas.
