“Despite not having a location in New Jersey, the brand already has strong market recognition,” franchisee Dipak Patel told NJ.com, who first reported the news. “We are thrilled to be bringing Bojangles to the Garden State and believe there is unlimited potential for the brand in the greater New York metropolitan region.”

About the Menu

Bojangles serves more than chicken and even has all-day breakfast items. These include sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit combo, bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit combo, and southern gravy biscuit combo.

The specialty sandwich, Bo’s chicken sandwich, is a favorite amongst fans of the brand. Ingredients include a “juicy chicken breast, marinated in a secret blend of bold spices and hand-breaded with a crispy, crunchy buttermilk coating, topped with two thick-cut dill pickles and creamy mayo, served on a toasted, buttered bakery bun.” Other fan favorites include the Cajun chicken filet biscuit, Bo’s Legendary iced tea, and the Bo-berry biscuit.

Other menu items include a grilled chicken sandwich, four-piece homestyle chicken tenders, signature bone-in chicken meals (available in legs, thighs, breast, or wings variety), family meals (available in eight-piece, 12-piece, and 20-piece chicken combos), kid’s meals, salads, and “fixins,” such as Cajun pintos, mashed potatoes and gravy, Bo-tato rounds, and macaroni and cheese. There are a variety of sauces to choose from including Bo’s special sauce, which is made with roasted red peppers.

Why Bojangles

Bojangles, though similar to Kentucky Fried Chicken, states it’s “anything but average,” and believes there are many reasons why the North Carolina-based eatery stands out.

For one, Bojangles strives to serve fresh food with “serious flavor.” “While many of our competitors are unboxing frozen biscuits, we’re whipping ours up from scratch. Baked fresh every 20 minutes, our famous buttermilk biscuits come with just about everything on the menu and our customers can get enough of them,” the website reads. “Our hand-breaded chicken is tossed in our secret blend of spices and fried fresh for every meal. The unique flavor was inspired by Cajun cooking and gives guests a taste of the South in every bite.”
