In an era of tweets and short-form thoughts, Sydney Topf still believes in the power of traditional journalism for giving the public accurate information so they can make informed decisions to improve their lives. As a Montclair native, Sydney is familiar with Montclair traditions and culture. Growing up in Montclair, she learned the importance of storytelling and journalism from teachers, friends, and neighbors. She graduated from Montclair High School in 2021 and is a sophomore at Boston University studying journalism with a minor in political science. When she’s home in Essex County, she is trying new restaurants in the North Jersey area, hanging out with childhood friends, and immersing herself in the Montclair community. Wherever Sydney goes, she will always remain a Montclair girl.
