About The Salty Cow
The Bloomfield space at 73 Park Avenue has seen previous concepts like Art.ICE.zen, a dairy-free, vegan ice cream shop that also featured Italian ice, donuts, cookies, and more. The concept opened in 2021 as Scoop Boutique and closed after three years in business.

Now, the space is home to The Salty Cow, a new locally-owned sandwich shop. The shop serves creative sandwich options “designed to satisfy all cravings,” including The Salty Cow, composed of roast beef, mozzarella, and gravy on a French roll. We can confirm this is our personal favorite after trying nearly every sandwich on the menu. Another sub we’re still thinking about is The Good Friday, a non-meat option made with mozzarella, tomato, basil, arugula, pesto, and balsamic vinegar on a sub roll.

The Barn Sandwich is made of roast beef, turkey, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Russian dressing, and its name is inspired by a menu item from the former Pizza + Sandwich Barn in Caldwell.

The Salty Cow highlights its house-made fresh mozzarella made daily, a key part of its brand identity, with many menu items featuring “mootz” as a signature ingredient.
One Google reviewer wrote: “Just When You Thought You Could Not Get A Better Custom Fresh Mozzarella Sandwich in Jersey…… Until These Guys Came Along!”

Grand Opening
The Salty Cow announced its grand opening on April 9th on its Instagram @saltycownj, teasing its lineup of signature sandwiches.

Per the website, the chefs at The Salty Cow are constantly experimenting with new flavors, so its menu will likely be rotating.
The Salty Cow operates Monday through Friday, 7AM-4PM every day except Sunday, which is 7AM-3PM.
