Montclair Bellevue Avenue Library + Newark Public Library Reopen

After being closed to the public due to the ongoing pandemic, both the Montclair Bellevue Avenue Library and Newark Public Library have reopened their doors to the community once again.

Montclair’s historic Bellevue Avenue Branch Library, which was founded over a century ago, has reopened to the Montclair community as of July 6th.

“We are so proud to provide additional support to the Montclair Public Library for reopening the magnificent Bellevue Avenue Branch Library building to students, seniors, parents, toddlers, job seekers, literature lovers, and many others who are very eager to use its resources,” said Montclair Mayor Sean Spiller in a statement.

“I’m thrilled we reopened Bellevue Avenue Branch Library, a gem in the crown of the Montclair community,” said Deputy Mayor Bill Hurlock in the press release. “Residents are so excited to see this historic institution returned to service.”

The hours of operation for the library are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10AM – 2PM with additional hours to be added to the schedule.

The Newark Public Library, including all eight of its locations throughout the city, has reopened to the Newark community as of July 7th. Masks are mandatory to enter the library buildings.

As a part of the new protocols, the Main Library will be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9AM – 5PM, Wednesday 12AM-8PM, and Saturdays 10AM – 2PM with computer services will end 10 minutes before closing time.

The branches will be open, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9:30AM – 5:30PM, Wednesdays, 12PM – 8PM, and Saturdays from 10AM to 2PM with computer services will end 10 minutes before closing time.
