2nd STREET was first established in Japan in 1996. As of 2026, the second-hand franchise has over 1,000 locations in Japan and the United States, with one being on South Park Street in Montclair. At 2nd STREET, thrifters can find one-of-a-kind pieces in all sorts of styles and aesthetics. This spot “[has] unique items that can’t be found just anywhere,” per its website.

Everything at this shop, which includes apparel, accessories, home goods, body care, gifts, and kids’ + pet toys, is vintage or artisan-made.

Browsing through Connie’s Vintage Trunk is like scrolling through the decades. There are women’s dresses from as early as the 1920s and menswear dating back to the 1940s. At this spot, locals can find silk robes, embroidered kaftans, fur coats, and denim jumpsuits — it’s almost like a museum. The shop is open Thursday through Sunday from 12-5PM or by appointment.

Genevieve’s Exclusive Vintage Collection | 10 Lackawanna Plaza

Genevieve’s Exclusive Vintage Collection is a consignment shop selling designer vintage clothing, denim, outerwear, shoes, and accessories. Founded by Genevieve Wrenn, the shop is committed to sustainable fashion, and the team behind it spends hours at a time searching and curating one-of-a-kind pieces. Locals can shop at this store in person or online.

Little Treasure Thrift Shop | 2 Maple Avenue

The store is a non-profit that provides the local community with clothing, office supplies, household goods, sturdy paper bags, artwork, and everything else in between. People can drop things off when the shop is open and transform what no longer serves them into someone else’s little treasure. The shop is owned by Roulande Begy, who opened the store in 2016 with the mission of supporting children in need across Essex County.
