Meet the Finalists of Montclair Girl‘s Puppy Bowl 2025 — CAST YOUR VOTE!
Essex County is home to all kinds of adorable pups of all breeds and ages. Some of these furry friends have been chosen as the top nine finalists for our 4th Annual Montclair Girl Puppy Bowl 2025 — a contest that shines a light on local four-legged friends while supporting animal welfare. Read on for their stories, how we’re giving back to Wise Animal Rescue and Ace of Hearts Rescue (and how you can, too!), and how to vote for your favorite pup to win the 2025 crown.
Voting will take place from Monday, February 3rd to Thursday, February 6th at 11:59PM and the winner will be announced on Super Bowl Sunday, February 9th. You can vote as many times as you want within that time frame.

The Finalists
Teddy
Teddy's owner shared with us:
“Teddy is a friendly, loveable, 5-month-old pup from Bloomfield, NJ who adores everyone he meets (fellow fur friends included)! He is mom’s velcro dog and dad’s cuddle buddy. Teddy loves Bocces training treats and freeze-dried chicken treats from L&B Healthy Pet Markets - Montclair. He goes to Bond Vet - Montclair for all of his check-ups and PetSmart - Wayne for all of his food and toys. He loves to play rope, figure out those pesky puppy puzzles, walk in the park, and have puppy socialization time at the LECA in Woodland Park. He is Mom and Dad’s greatest joy as Mom lost her grandmother in November 2024. They are so grateful to add him to their little family."
Rossignol (Bossy Rossi)
Rossi shared with us:
"I’m Rossignol aka Bossy Rossi and I’m 9 months old (and a whopping 80 pounds and still growing). I was rescued from Barking Back Rescue in November and now live in Montclair with my hoomans where I love to make snow angels, do zoomies with my squeaky metro card, eat cheese, and body slam every person I meet—but my pawrents say that’s not how we greet people (but I’m a berner and I do what I want!). I love taking trips to Montclair Brewery and Home Depot…basically anywhere with a tasty floor!"
Sadie
Sadie's owner shared with us:
"Sadie, a three-year-old teddy bear Maltese Shih Tzu from Hackensack, is a playful, affectionate bundle of joy. She starts her mornings with a "spa treatment" of belly scratches and spends her days showering everyone with nonstop kisses. Whether dining outdoors or browsing Bloomingdale’s with her mama and Meems, Sadie’s excitement is infectious. She treasures her "lambies" toys, enjoys solving treat puzzles, and loves chasing her best friend Jersey in the yard. A treat connoisseur, Sadie adores beef liver and bully sticks from L&B Healthy Pet Market. She’s a little star who brings love and energy wherever she goes!"
Fletcher
Fletcher's owner shared with us:
"This 4-year-old sock-loving superstar from Pompton Lakes is ready to bring his A-game to the Puppy Bowl! Fletcher is a proud big brother to Brussels and loves cheering on young athletes as the unofficial mascot at local high school sporting events. One of his favorite pastimes is walking with his family to the nearby sports field, where he greets fans, soaks in the action, and spreads his infectious joy. On weekends, you’ll often find Fletcher exploring pet-friendly coffee shops with his mom, where he’s always on the lookout for a delicious pup cup. When he’s not spending time with his “Yaya” (grandma), Fletcher loves salmon or blueberry-flavored treats and never says no to a good sock. Sharing his birthday with his dad makes him even more special, and he’s sure to win your heart with his playful energy and loving spirit."
Archie
Archie's owner shared with us:
"Archie just turned one year old! He lives in Glen Ridge where he enjoys playing with everyone in site. His favorite treats are frozen hot dogs, yum! We love Brookdale Pet in Bloomfield for all of Archie’s accessories and treats. Archie is a toy poodle and can jump so high that he grabs dish towels from the kitchen island! He loves to hop up on his hind legs and play. He truly is the most loving, fun, silly dog! And yes, can be a bit naughty and stubborn at times too. Don’t try to call him back home when he’s chasing a squirrel."
Reiki
Reiki's owner shared with us:
"We adopted Reiki 1 month ago. She is now 4 months old and was rescued by the Save the Satos program in NJ from the streets of Puerto Rico. She was found with a really bad eye infection that has been treated and now has some scarring. Despite her rough start to life, she is extremely cuddly, loyal, and affectionate. When we visited her at the shelter, she was with a few other puppies. There was one who was very small and timid, and Reiki kept close to him, making sure he felt safe—our little girl is a natural healer, hence the name. Her favorite activity is walking the streets of Montclair and popping into stores to say hello. A true local! Reiki especially loves visiting the girls at Dollymoo and Salt Aire Collective, because they give her so much love!"
Chia
Chia's owner shared with us:
"Chia is a 3-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi born and raised in San Diego, California. When living in California, she was a great foster sister to many dogs who were rescued from Tijuana, Mexico. Chia's sweet, friendly, and playful attitude helped acclimate many dogs to their new life in San Diego. She was always welcoming to other dogs and willing to share her space, toys, and best sniff spots in the neighborhood. Her owner (Ruth) moved back to her home state of NJ and was accompanied by Chia and her fostered-to-adopted sister Sandy (Corgi/Jack Russel Mix). Many road trips later, Chia has visited 33 states and now lives in NJ full time. She loves to play in the snow, do puzzles, and eat carrots. She loves to visit Starbucks drive thru's and pet stores like L&B Healthy Pet Markets and Whole Pet Market (except she just found out there are now vet offices in some pet stores so she's a little bit nervous about that...)"
Beanie (The Bean)
Beanie's owner shared with us:
"My name is Beanie aka The Bean. I am a 3-month-old long-haired mini dachshund. I live in Montclair with my two moms. I love belly rubs, giving my mom kisses, and playing with my mini tennis balls. I also love playing hide & seek under the couch. My favorite treats are carrots and homemade peanut butter dog biscuits! I love shopping at L&B Pet Markets in Montclair."
Rosie
Rosie's owner shared with us:
"Rosie is a 4-year-old Sheepadoodle who lives in Nutley, NJ. Rosie came from an AKC breeder in Missouri. Her father comes from a line of Old English Sheepdog show dogs. My husband and I bought Rosie just as we were starting our new life buying a home and now she is about to be a big sister to a baby girl in April 2025! Rosie loves to play fetch (but not to give it back) and loves to go on walks, chase Bunnies and squirrels, and visit local dog parks! Rosie was diagnosed with Addison's Disease in August 2022 and our local veterinarian (Arlington Dog & Cat Hospital in Kearny, NJ) saved her life when they noticed her symptoms. Ever since her diagnosis, Rosie has maintained a healthy and very happy lifestyle and you wouldn’t even believe she has it! Rosie loves to get groomed at Noelle’s Grooming salon in Nutley once a month! (Diva!) Rosie brings everyone she meets so much love and happiness, especially when she can’t contain her smiling!"
