About Onyx
Onyx is a three-and-a-half-year-old Puggle with the cutest little grumpy face! But don’t let his face fool you, Onyx is a happy-go-lucky pup who loves to do just about everything from daily walks to hikes to a good old-fashioned snuggle-sesh, Onyx is your guy.
He is currently being foster in West Orange because his family was moving and did not want to take him. Now, he’s ready to find his forever family. Onyx’s ideal home is one with a fenced-in yard where he can play with an active family who likes to take walks and go out and explore. While he does love a good cuddle, he is no couch potato.
Onyx would prefer to be the only pet as he only gets along with some dogs. He can be in a home with children 6+ who have lived with a dog previously. Onyx is potty-trained and very friendly.

About Piper
Piper is an eight-year-old Pit Bull mix ready to show you how much love she has to offer. She is a sweet girl who just wants to be in the company of people. Piper loves to lay next to you on the couch and soak up your attention. She greets everyone she meets with a wagging tail and smile on her wrinkly face. The loving girl is fully housetrained and non-destructive when left alone. She is quiet and rarely makes a peep!
Piper is currently in a foster home after spending time in local, municipal shelters in the Montclair area where she was found as a stray. She was microchipped and her family was contacted but they simply did not want her back.
During the day, Piper is very content lounging in her bed or going on walks to check out the neighborhood. She walks perfectly on the leash. She is very smart and treat-motivated. She has mastered commands {sit, wait, paw}.
While Piper may be a golden girl, she still loves to play tug-of-war and spend time outside. She enjoys a quieter home so she would do best with kids above the age of 12. She does well with other dogs, cats, and even birds. Piper loves everyone and everything!

How To Adopt
To begin the process of adoption for Onyx, Piper, or any of the other foster pets currently in-need of a home at Wise Animal Rescue, fill out an application here. Please note it typically takes at least 2-5 days to process your application.
Adoption donations range from about $300-$600 which helps defray the cost of veterinary and foster care and are tax-deductible.
