The Parkside Social in Verona has been transformed into a holiday pop-up by the Miracle team once again for the 2022 season. Located at 706 Bloomfield Avenue in Verona, the Miracle on Bloomfield Holiday Pop-up has taken over the space, and we had a chance to stop by and check it out. Winter-themed cocktails, holiday décor, bartenders in ugly sweaters — the Parkside Social does the absolute most to bring the holiday cheer. Read on to learn more about this Christmas-themed pop-up in Verona running through January 1st, 2023.

Miracle Pop-Ups

The idea was started back in 2014 when cocktail aficionado and restaurant owner, Greg Boehm, transformed his bar, Mace, into a winter wonderland. Guests enjoyed it so much that Greg started to recreate it annually. Now, Spokos Miracle pop-ups can be found at more than 200 participating bars across the United States — and even more internationally. North Jersey alone has about a half dozen opportunities to enjoy these unique pop-ups that take over popular restaurants.

The Atmosphere

From the moment guests walk up to the front door of The Parkside Social, holiday décor is abound. Nutcrackers, garland, and lights adorn the door and spill over the foyer of the restaurant. The room is fully decked out with Christmas décor, and the already cozy vibes inside The Parkside Social are made even cozier with the festive look. Small presents hang from the ceiling, garland dresses the bar, and lights can be seen covering nearly the entire space.

The Drinks

The holiday-themed drinks are most definitely the main attraction. Across the country, these fun events are well-known for the decorative glassware and Christmas-inspired cocktails. Miracle on Bloomfield’s cocktail menu includes “Grandma got Run Over by a T-Rex,” which comes served in a holiday T-Rex mug and is made with vodka and citrus flavors, while Santa’s Little Helper comes in a tall glass adorned with an adorable holiday koala bear attached to the straw.

The menu also offers warm, spiked beverages like Hot Buttered Rum and Mulled Wine. Other festive cocktails include Jingle Balls Nog, the Christmapolitan, and Holiday Spiked Chai. Each drink is prepared right in front of guests and served with a side of holiday season happiness. The drinks for this year’s Miracle pop-ups were created by cocktail legend, Joann Spiegel, who is well-known as an international expert in the spirited beverage industry. Traditional drinks from the regular menu are still available as well.

The Food

Parkside Social has an eclectic menu to fit every palate. Classic burgers, large pretzels, and French fries top the list. The menu also includes exciting twists on American dishes like the fried chicken lollipops from the appetizer section and the Parkside Burger made with pork belly and Havarti cheese. For a full dinner, guests can enjoy entrees that include fish, chicken, beef, and vegetarian options. Of course, there’s always room for dessert when doughnuts are on the menu. We highly recommend pairing the doughnuts for two that comes with two full doughnuts, two doughnut holes, and two servings of chocolate mousse topped with whipped cream and accompanied by the Hot Buttered Rum cocktail. You can thank us later.

Events

Throughout the pop-up, Miracle on Bloomfield is hosting additional attractions for even more holiday spirit. The Holiday Bus Tour was on Saturday, December 10th. The sleigh-inspired bus will make stops at all of the local Skopos Miracle On restaurants in Verona, Nutley, Wood-Ridge, and Harrison so that riders can enjoy holiday cocktails throughout North Jersey. Both Santa and Mrs. Claus made an appearance during brunch hours on December 11th in time for the Toy Drive. Santa will return to Parkside Social for brunch on December 17th. As for the big day, Miracle on Bloomfield will be closed on Christmas Day, but guests can expect regular hours all other days with the bar opening at noon on the final day, January 1st.
