“Our motivation has always been to bring more business and attention to uptown because we feel like downtown gets all the love,” they said. “Especially with live music.”
About Dan + Days
Dan + Days is a burger and shake shop in Montclair led by husband-and-wife duo Dan and Dayanna, which opened in 2024.
Dan grew up in Montclair and spent much of his time hanging out in Upper Montclair with friends. He initially opened a burger shop called Stuffed Grass in 2014 in Montclair, which is now closed, but he always dreamed of relocating to Upper Montclair. In 2021, he met Day, originally from Ecuador, who joined the Stuffed team. The two quickly realized they were a strong business and romantic match and took over the shop together before getting married in 2022.

The couple fell more and more in love with Upper Montclair and spent years planning and searching for the perfect spot to open a new shop. They ultimately decided to rebrand under their own names to reflect their dedication and connection to Montclair.
The team also announced plans in November 2025 to launch a new food venture, Farmhouse Fried Chicken, at 223 Bellevue Avenue. The opening date is still to be determined.
“It’ll be an elevated fried chicken concept which focuses on sandwiches but will also have ‘bone-in’ fried chicken as well,” Dan and Dayanna told MG in 2025.
